Kate Langrish-Smith established her company Brimful Hats & Co in 2007. Having trained in both classical and theatrical millinery Kate now creates hats for a range of clients from her London studio in a style which is reverential to the traditional forms of millinery but with a contemporary twist.
Kate’s designs incorporate materials ranging from vintage hats and fabrics, ribbons and leather, to feathers from managed estates; a mixture of new and old, but always with a mind to the sustainability of our environment and her belief in supporting British industry.
We are delighted to announce that Kate recently won Hat Magazines ‘Hat Designer of the Year 2010′ Competition. The theme was ‘Steam Punk’, her collection was inspired by a fascination with Victorian mysticism and spirituality. The three winning hats will be shown at Premier Class in March 2011 showcasing her assured technical skills and unique imagination.
