Kate Langrish-Smith established her company Brimful Hats & Co in 2007. Having trained in both classical and theatrical millinery Kate now creates hats for a range of clients from her London studio in a style which is reverential to the traditional forms of millinery but with a contemporary twist.
Kate’s designs incorporate materials ranging from vintage hats and fabrics, ribbons and leather, to feathers from managed estates; a mixture of new and old, but always with a mind to the sustainability of our environment and her belief in supporting British industry.
Kate is currently shortlisted for the Hat Designer of the Year 2010 competition. The theme is ‘Steam Punk’, her collection was inspired by a fascination with Victorian mysticism and spirituality. The three hats that will be shown at Premier Class in September showcase her assured technical skills and unique imagination.
